Beach Day-Cation

You never realize how much you need a beach day until you are there soaking it in. I hear about three beaches here that are great for kids. 1) Wingersheik 2) Singing Beach 3) Crane Beach. My good friend, Maria just happens to live in the beautiful little beach town situated right next to Crane Beach. Mentioning a beach day to her is such a no-brainer. We all could've been there for four more hours! It was heavenly. The kids played like crazy and built their own Marine Biology Station complete with a giant crab and tons of little sea snails. We found three dead, giant sting ray looking things called scapes. The kids wanted to take them to a museum! Not in our cars!!

Too tired to spell digging right! Is it me or are these summer days looongng? :)

Summer Highlights

I had so many great experiences with my kids this summer. The best was watching them bond with each other. When there were no friends around, they were left to play with each other. I have to say I think they had the times of their lives. I will cherish that about this summer. Just to prove camp mom was not a total bomb this year I'll list a few accomplishments:
  • Presley finally figured out how to cross the monkey bars, She worked so hard and was so determined!
  • Both Noah and Presley completed their summer reading lists and really liked reading.
  • We successfully decorated their whole bedroom with their own colorful personal artwork.
  • We did an act of service at least once a week.
  • We learned multiple scripture stories. I think Noah is going to scream if he hears one more time about the 10 Lepers. (Pres thinks it's the 10 Leopards!)
  • Charlie used the potty multiple times and can speak in 2-3 word sentences. (Maybe I'm the only one who knows what he's saying, though...)
  • Charlie is growing up, but he still makes sucking sounds in his sleep like he's nursing. I think it's so adorable.
  • Noah has done more than his fair share of cleaning the bedroom, getting Charlie drinks, teaching Presley to share with Charlie, and guarding his lego creations with his life. Sigh, I'm going to miss these guys when they go to school...

A new month and a new do... and t shirts.

I have been contemplating giving Pres bangs for a while now. She just constantly has her hair in her eyes and keeps growing new hairs that I can't keep up with. Tonight we took the plunge!

She thinks it looks so pretty. I love it! It definitely has a cleaner look to it.

Saturday night Josh and I went on a double date with our friends, Ryan and Nicole. We went to the movies to see "Inception". I liked it. I think Leonardo DiCaprio is a moron (because he's so pushy in real life, mostly), but I really like Ellen Page and Gordon Leavitt. Josh and Ryan went to go get popcorn and came back wearing "Team Jacob" and "Team Edward" shirts!--purchased at the concession stand. Ha ha.
Nicole and I both agree that Ryan bares a resemblance to Jasper Cullen.
They might kill me for posting pics, but that's what you get when you are a man and purchase a Twilight T-shirt!! :)
P.S. They only had Women's sizes available. hee hee
