Sorry for so many pregnancy posts. I'm thinking this is probably the last pregnancy I will have (nothing's set in stone though) so I just can't help but savor every moment...

Loving Summer

Today's weather called for scattered thunderstorms so we jetted off to the beach before they hit. We just drove ten miles and had so much fun. I should have won the award for most talented quick change artist as I shimmied into my tankini under a towel on the beach. It wasn't easy with this 6+ pound baby swimming in my belly! We ran to the car after 3 hours when we felt the rain drops. It was just enough time to play and soak up the sun. The second we got home, the thunder hit. Gave us the perfect excuse to shower off the sand and pop in Star Wars V.

Scrapbook Anyone?

I am so old school. I STILL scrapbook! Well I haven't in a while, but recently I have been scrappin' away, updating the kids' baby books before I add a third babe to the mix. I'm thinking I may retire my paper cutter and acid free glue sticks in a year and follow the crowd with photo books. They totally hit my graphic design sweet spot and seem to be lot less stress than having little bits of paper scattered all over your house and your kids using glue as paint all over the kitchen table.

Speaking of the third kiddo, I have a brand new ultrasound pic to show off. This one is so close up and squished, it's hard to tell what anything is. Then again some of you out there are super good at recognizing stuff in these.

Hot in the City

Does my daughter resemble someone famous???

Bed hair in the summer heat is awesome!

I don' t think I talked about Presley's interesting hair experience on this blog. In January she had a fever over the weekend that was a little on the higher side and made her break out in hives. I called the doctor and he said to bring her in if the fever lasts through Monday. The fever went away by Monday and was easy to control with Motrin so I never took her in. Then a couple weeks later, I noticed her hair was looking thinner. I joked about it with neighbors, but just thought it looked that way from winter static. Her hair got so staticky with sweaters and stuff. Then I started noticing hair on her pillow every morning and on her pj's. Josh would run his fingers through her hair and five or six strands would fall into his hands. I took her in when I started to see little bald patches. It turns out she had Telogen Effluvium. It was described to me as a condition that makes your hair fall out when there is some sort of shock to your body's system. I guess it happens to people who have divorces, deaths in the family, all kinds of emotional trauma, and then also to little kids that get crazy, high fevers! Who knew? So PK lost gobs of hair but after a couple of months started getting these brand new hopeful little pokey hairs! I was overjoyed for her. Homegirl has gone through quite a bit during her little second year of life! I'll show you the progression charts I made for the doc:

I didn't mean for this to be a hair post about PK, but I love when other moms share stuff like this to make us more aware of different things that could happen to our sweet little kids. Today PK has all these THICK new hairs that I am trying to figure out what to do with. She still has a handful of the old strands that are a lot longer. It may be time to get it cut to even it all out.

It has been scortching hot here in bean town! Just in time to welcome the bless-ed (barf) Lakers!! Here are some pics of us keeping cool with the kids in our hood:

Baby Shower at IHOP!

Saturday I had a baby shower at IHOP. Good food and good conversation . It was all I could've asked for. Plus I got some great gifts; cute clothes, diapers, and a Target gift card. We used that right away and bought baby Charlie's first car seat. Thanks to all my sweet Cambridge friends for coming and putting this together. I really feel loved:).

35 weeks! The baby probably weighs over 5 lbs now!

People keep asking me how we are going to fit everyone in our car^^

Our Toyota Matrix has JUST enough room for the five of us:)

Here are some cute recent sleeping kids pictures. Below is Noah's attempt last night to stay up late with mom and dad.
Presley just got some clothes from her big cousin, Anora and loved the patriotic bikini so much she slept in it. We've had temps over 90 degrees, so I'm thinking it was a good pajama choice that night!

Blurbs from Brooklyn

We made it down to NYC over the weekend. It was great to visit with our friends, the Komenda's and check out the Natural History Museum. We got caught in a thunderstorm and had big adventures on the subways. It definitely made the weekend fly by way too fast. Our one casualty was a lone flip flop Noah dropped out of the stroller. If you ever come across a tiny tan flip flop in the Natural History Museum in New York, send it our way:).
