Easter in NY

Heather and I. We've been friends since preschool!

We just got back from our whirlwind weekend in New York. It was a thrilling trip filled with one adventure after another. We could not have asked for a more perfect trip. The weather was nice, our friends knew all the free kid friendly activities, and Noah and Presley were little angels. The Easter bunny rewarded them well. Noah's first comment was, "Hey mom, the Easter bunny shops at the Dollar Store!!" Ha ha.

The view from the Empire State. Our friend Chris has an office in the building so we got in for free and avoided a two hour long line!

Ground Zero. 9/11 happened a few months before I met Josh. I think it changed everyones' perspective on life.

We walked the Brooklyn Bridge to eat some delicious pizza at Grimaldi's in "DUMBO"

Grass

My mom had the cutest corny sense of humor. She would say "spring has sprung, the grass is riz, I wonder where the flowers is!"
We got these cute little grass pots at Enrichment the other night. I think I'll tie a ribbon around one and give it to my neighbor as a little Easter gift. These little grass pots are such a great decor addition. You just get potting soil and wheat grass seeds at your local Whole Foods or hippy store, water every day and in one week whalah! So pretty. My friend got these little pots at IKEA for $.29. Can't beat that. The catch, though is that the pots don't have holes in the bottom so the grass won't last too long. You're supposed to cut it off and throw it in your smoothie for some added nutrients!

Ready for Easter!

Everything seems to be happening so fast this month. Daylight savings makes bedtime sneak up on me these days. It's kind of nice to realize the kids are ready to go to bed just a little after the sun goes down. Also the fact that Easter is March 23rd just makes it seem like it's almost here already. I had to hurry and get Presley an Easter dress because the shelves at stores were quickly getting sparce! Check out my photography blog for more of the kiddos in their Easter duds. I am extremely excited for Easter this year because we will be spending it in New York City with one of my very best friends, Heather and her hubby, Chris. They are just like family so it will be such a great time.

Preschool Dayz

We made picture frames and portraits of an emotion. Silly was the feeling of choice!

Here are my wonderful little students:

This week was my week to teach in Noah's preschool coop. I have a lot of fun with those little guys. I don't know if it's their age or what but, they are great at participating and getting excited about the lessons. It makes me feel like I'm doing something right. Thank goodness for my big dining room table. It is definitely getting it's arts and crafts mileage. Thanks mom and dad Plant!

Princess Presley

Marshalls and TJ Maxx are my new favorite places to shop for toys. Why didn't I know about them sooner?! I got PK this tiara and wand for $1 and Noah got a Power Ranger sword for $.70! I tried taking Noah to the dollar store to get the fake Power Ranger stuff and he totally saw through it and knew they weren't the originals! Presley is in LOVE with princess things. I want to make her a princess skirt out of tool and ribbon as soon as I get the motivation to hand sew something!
