I'm realizing there is a big difference between messes in the summertime and messes in the winter. Right now most of our activities at home consist of baking and art projects. My dining room table is really taking a beating. After this endless winter, I'm really starting to miss finding sandbox sand everywhere in the house and seeing the muddy ring in the bath tub.

Eat Meat Sparingly??
Josh showed me the most disturbing video that he happened upon on the PETA website. Josh is one of the last people in the world I would ever think to consider becoming a vegetarian, but after viewing the video, he was having second thoughts about meat. Click on this link,
then go to the "Meet your Meat" video if you want to watch. I HAVE TO WARN YOU, THOUGH, it is pretty graphic. I actually started to cry watching it and had to shut it off. Curious now?? Since watching the video, we have really cut back on our meat intake. I don't think we'd ever become vegetarians, but we are now reconsidering what we believe eating meat sparingly might mean.

Future Son in Law?
My friend, Heather told me a cute story the other day. She said that her little boy was saying the dinner prayer and asked to be bessed that he would marry Presley someday! Her little boy, Tate is Noah's best buddy so he is around Presley a lot. Presley always is excited to see Tate. I babysat him in December and put a little movie on for the kiddos. Presley wound up scooting as close as she could to Tate.

Crystal Gardens
after one hour
after 24 hours
after 24 hours
If you're looking for a rainy day activity for you and the kids, I highly recommend making a crystal garden.
You need:
salt
ammonia
liguid bluing (near the bleach at the grocery store)
a paper towel
clear plastic cup
food coloring
Here's what the bluing looks like. If you just get a bottle of this, the instructions are on the bottle. Or go here.
